Competence of working students and preregistration trainees

There will be no mandatory requirement for preregistration trainees or pharmacy undergraduates working during vacations to meet the Society's minimum competence requirements for medicines counter assistants or dispensing/pharmacy assistants, the Council decided at the April Council meeting. Instead, the Society will rely on the supervising pharmacist’s professional responsibility to ensure that such students only undertake tasks that they are competent to perform.
