Corticosteroids for knee OA

Injections of corticosteroids into the knee can improve symptoms of osteoarthritis, a review of trials shows.

Researchers pooled data from six trials and found that symptoms of the disease were twice as likely to improve in patients injected with corticosteroids than in those given placebo (BMJ 2004;328:869).
