Electronic Drug Tariff launched on 1 May
An electronic version of the Drug Tariff will be launched on 1 May, the Prescription Pricing Authority announced this week.
Christine Dalton, director of pharmaceutical policy and services at the
PPA, said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the electronic
Drug Tariff. I am in no doubt that the electronic Drug Tariff will make
searching for information in the Drug Tariff easier for prescribers and
dispensers.”
The electronic Drug Tariff will be made available on the PPA website.
A spokeswoman for the PPA said that
access to the electronic version will be free of charge.
However, paper copies of the Drug Tariff will continue to be distributed as long
as a demand exists, the spokeswoman confirmed. In the long term, the PPA hopes
that current users of the paper tariff will transfer to the electronic version
and that, eventually, the paper format can be phased out.
If users want to stop receiving paper copies of the Drug Tariff they should contact
the PPA. The PPA website is at www.ppa.org.uk |
