Lipid levels higher in winter

More people may be diagnosed as having hypercholesterolaemia during the winter months, say researchers who have found blood lipid levels to be higher at this time of year. Seasonal variation was found to be greater in women and hypercholesterolaemic patients (Archives of Internal Medicine 2004;164:863).
