Genetics education for NHS staff

A genetics education and development centre is to be run by the Women's Healthcare Trust in Birmingham, Health Secretary John Reid announced this week. The new centre, which is part of the Government’s £50m genetics strategy, will receive £600,000 a year for an initial three-year period. The centre will provide training for NHS staff to ensure they are informed about genetic technology and treatments.
