SPC changes

Pariet tablets
The summary of product characteristics for Pariet (rabeprazole) has been updated to include an “on demand” dosage recommendation for symptomatic treatment of moderate to very severe gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It now states: “Once symptoms have resolved, subsequent symptom control can be achieved using an on-demand regimen taking 10mg once daily when needed.” See SPC.

Discontinued products

Aminogran
Aminogran mineral mixture will be discontinued from 31 May (UCB Pharma). Aminogran PKU tablets and Aminogran food supplement will remain available.

Melleril
Melleril (thioridazine) suspension 0.5 per cent, Melleril suspension 2 per cent and Melleril syrup 0.5 per cent have been discontinued (Novartis).

Gestronol hexanoate
Gestronol hexanoate injection 200mg/2ml is being discontinued from 1 June (Cambridge Laboratories).

Trimetaphan camsylate
Trimetaphan camsylate injection 250mg/5ml is being discontinued from 31 July (Cambridge Laboratories).

Levodopa tablets
Levodopa tablets 500mg x 84 will be discontinued from 30 November (Cambridge Laboratories).

Ensure and Enrich
Ensure powder 380g and Enrich chocolate-flavoured liquid 250ml have been discontinued (Abbott Laboratories).
