Guidelines for the annual general meeting with regard to the
financial statements
Over the past few weeks, and in line with
the Society’s Byelaws,
the 2003 accounts for the Society have been available to members
on the Society’s website (www.rpsgb.org). A summary of the
accounts also appeared in the Society’s annual review, which
was distributed to all members on 1 May.
At the annual general meeting on Wednesday 12 May, the Treasurer,
Linda Stone, the Director of Finance and Resources, Bernard Kelly,
and the Financial Controller, Graham Duncan, will present the 2003
financial statements and auditors’ report to members. The
presentation will give full details of the change in accounting
policy and any
significant items which have impacted the results during 2003.
The presentation of the 2003 financial statements to the members
at the annual general meeting is for information only. It is the
responsibility of the Council to approve the Society’s financial
statements at its March meeting. The annual general meeting will
therefore follow the procedure of 2003, under which members receive
the accounts approved by Council and no vote is taken.
Members have the opportunity to raise any question in relation
to the 2003 financial statements and are invited to submit questions
by either e-mail to accounts2003@rpsbg.org or by post to Graham
Duncan,
Financial Controller, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN. Questions
received by 7 May will be answered at the annual general meeting.
Any question received after that date or raised at the AGM without
prior notification may not be responded to at the meeting. These
questions will be followed up, in writing, directly with the member. |
