Women returning to HRT for symptom control
Up to a fifth of women who stopped hormone replacement therapy in the past 18 months have resumed their treatment, a survey of 400 women has revealed.
The NOP survey, conducted on behalf of Wyeth , found that nine out of
10 respondents had seen HRT-related media coverage, with most seeing
negative reports. One third of the 163 respondents who decided to stop
using HRT said they had done so because of these reports. However, 21
per cent of those who had stopped decided to restart treatment, with
most giving effective symptom control as the reason. A similar proportion
said they would not reconsider their decision to stop treatment. |
