Affluence and heart failure

People who live in socioeconomically deprived areas are more likely to develop heart failure but less likely to see their GP regularly, research conducted in Scotland has shown. By contrast, prescribing patterns did not vary according to the socioeconomic status of patients (BMJ, 2004;328:1110).
