New guide to pharmaceutical isolators published by the Pharmaceutical Press

New from the Pharmaceutical Press, the publications division of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, is a guide to pharmaceutical isolators.

‘Pharmaceutical isolators: a guide to their application, design and control’ sets out new guidance on the design, construction, commissioning, maintenance, use and monitoring of isolators. It is a consensus document prepared by the isolator working party of the UK NHS Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Committee. The working party consisted of experts representing manufacturers, users, quality assurance specialists and regulators.

The book is edited by pharmacist Brian Midcalf (assistant pharmaceutical technology and quality assurance course director, school of continuing education, University of Leeds), with Mitchell Phillips (West Midlands quality assurance pharmacist), John Neiger (chairman, Envair Ltd) and Tim Coles (isolator specialist, GRC Consultants).

The Pharmaceutical Press says that the new book will be an indispensable guide for both experienced and new users of pharmaceutical isolator technology, as well as a valuable reference source for auditors, inspectors and all those involved in standard setting and monitoring.

The 272-page paperback book costs £29.95. Orders can be placed with Pharmaceutical Press Customer Services (tel 01491 829272; fax 01491 829292; e-mail rpsgb@cabi.org) or through the Pharmaceutical Press website
