Michael Schofield resigns from the Council
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Council has lost the services of Michael Schofield, one of the three Council members appointed by the Privy Council.
Professor Schofield resigned from the Council during the election of
the Society’s Officers on 9 June because of his concerns about
the Society’s future direction following the change of President.
He said that he would report his concerns to the Privy Council, the Department
of Health and the Council for the Regulation of Health-care Professionals.
The other Privy Council nominee members of Council, Phillida Entwistle
and Bob Michell, supported his decision and put the Council “on
notice” until August.
A more detailed report will appear in next week’s Journal.
