Linda Stone has been awarded an OBE for services to the NHS |
Linda Stone, a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Council, has been made an officer of the Order of the British Empire in last week's Queen's birthday honours.
Mrs Stone received the award for services to the NHS in the West Midlands. “It
is very humbling to be honoured by the Queen in this way. I have spent
all my working life trying to develop and improve standards of practice
within pharmacy so that we can better help the patients and public for
whom we care. I am delighted that the important role that pharmacists
play in health care is being recognised,” she commented.
Mrs Stone has a number of roles in the West Midlands. She is a locum
pharmacist, undertakes some consultancy work and is involved with two
charities as trustee of the University Hospital Birmingham charity and
chairman of the British
Sjögren’s Syndrome Association. |
