Diclofenac patch for sport injury

Diclofenac delivered via a patch is effective and could be used to treat sports impact injuries, researchers suggest.

They compared a newly developed diclofenac patch with placebo in 120 patients with sports injuries. The active patch produced rapid pain relief and was well tolerated (British Journal of Sports Medicine 2004;38:318).
