Quetiapine reduces anxiety

Symptoms of anxiety in patients with bipolar depression may be relieved by quetiapine (Seroquel). Results from a study of 542 patients show that those treated with quetiapine 300mg or 600mg daily reported lower scores on the Hamilton rating scale for anxiety compared with patients given placebo (P<0.05). The data were presented at a meeting of the Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum in Paris this week.
