BPC 2004 programme and online booking forms now available

The programme for this year's British Pharmaceutical Conference, along with the booking form, is now available. The conference will take place in Manchester from 27 to 29 September and the theme is “Medicines: from cell to society” (see BPC preview p811).

As well as practice symposia covering a variety of issues, such as the new pharmacy contract, chronic disease management and supplementary prescribing, the conference will review the latest developments in pharmaceutical science, including presentations on genomics, nanotechnology, nanomedicines in routine use, stem cells and tissue engineering, including a talk from Nobel laureate Harry Kroto (see Interview p809).

For those interested in pharmacy education, there will be a discussion on the challenges for pharmacy education as well as a session on career opportunities aimed at fourth-year MPharm students and preregistration trainees.

Harry Cayton, director for patients and the public, Department of Health, will give a keynote speech on pharmacists, patient choice, equity and responsiveness.

Detailed information about the conference programme and speakers, the exhibition and event supporters are available at the new BPC website (www.bpc2004.org) or by contacting Angela Lyons on 0121 248 3399 or e-mail alyons@health-links.fsnet.co.uk.
