Society announces further new staff appointments
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has appointed further key staff members as part of the roll-out of its new staff structure.
Peter Wilson has been appointed head of the post-registration division
within the education and registration directorate. Dr Wilson will work
on developing and implementing strategies for mandatory continuing professional
development, revalidation, post-registration training and specialisations
as part of the “education futures” task group.
Dr Wilson has been CPD consultant to the Society since 2002, when he
retired as director of the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education.
He also leads for the Society on introducing pharmacist supplementary
prescribing, including preparating the education and training curriculum
and accrediting training programmes.
David Gomez has been appointed legal advisor within the directorate of
fitness to practise and legal affairs with effect from 19 July. He will
be involved in reforming the Society’s legislation, providing general
legal advice to Society staff and pharmacists and preparing cases for
prosecution and disciplinary proceedings. He joins the Society from the
Field Fisher Waterhouse law firm, where he was assistant in the professional
regulatory department.
Three existing staff members now have new posts. Liz Griffiths has been
appointed head of the Secretary and Registrar’s office, Janet
Flint is now head of support staff regulation within the education and registration
directorate and Anne Adams has become head of professional leadership
within the practice and quality improvement directorate.
