Welsh Executive elects new chairman and vice-chairman

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Welsh Executive has elected a new chairman and vice-chairman for 2004–05.

At a meeting of the executive on 8 July, Mair Davies was elected to succeed Andrea Robinson as chairman. Peter Jones was elected vice-chairman, succeeding David Temple.

Mrs Robinson and Dr Temple had both served since 2001.

Mrs Davies, from Groesfaen in Mid Glamorgan, registered as a pharmacist in 1974. She is a postgraduate continuing professional development tutor for the Welsh Centre for Post-Graduate Pharmaceutical Education. She has experience in hospital pharmacy and in community pharmacy as both a manager and a contractor.

Mr Jones, of Bridgend, who registered as a pharmacist in 1975, is professional development pharmacist for South Wales for Boots The Chemists. He is a member of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Committee and the Welsh Committee for Professional Development of Pharmacy.
