Scottish Department produces second issue of its newsletter for members in Scotland
The second issue of a newsletter for pharmacists in Scotland has been produced by the Scottish Department of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
The newsletter includes a report on the progress of the review of Society’s
functions, structure and ways of working to ensure that it can meet the
needs of devolution. Also included is a short guide to some new bodies
in NHS Scotland — the Scottish Medicines Consortium, NHS Quality
Improvement Scotland, Health Scotland and the 14 managed clinical networks.
The newsletter reports on a number of recent changes at the Scottish
Department — the election of four new Scottish Executive members,
the election of Angela Timoney as chairman and the appointment
of Lyndon Braddick as director from 1 August (PJ, 26 June, p821).
A page devoted to the branches includes advance notice of autumn meetings,
brief reports of some recent meetings and an account of the annual meeting
of branch secretaries in Scotland.
The newsletter is being distributed in Scotland with this issue of The
Pharmaceutical Journal and will also be available on the Scottish Department’s
website
The newsletter forms part of a new communications strategy in Scotland
and is intended to be a vehicle for the Society, branches and members
to communicate with each other about issues, events and activities in
Scotland.
