Generics price fixing allegations extended to more companies

Legal proceedings against two manufacturers for alleged price fixing over the sale of generic ranitidine to the NHS (PJ, 10 July, p44) have been extended to three further companies: Norton Healthcare Ltd, Norton Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Kent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Norton Healthcare said that the company strongly refuted the allegation. “The company has never manufactured ranitidine and annual sales of the product made a negligible impact on consolidated net revenues during the applicable period,” a spokeswoman said.
