Pharmacy2U offers pharmacy affiliation service

Pharmacy2U, an internet pharmacy, is offering to co-brand pharmacy websites belonging to conventional bricks-and-mortar pharmacies as a way of defending themselves against new internet start-ups.

Daniel Lee, managing director of Pharmacy2U, said: “This will link any individual pharmacy website that may be offering only information to our online shopping channel. Rather than being competitive, this is synergistic.”

Participating pharmacies will receive commission of 10 per cent on any immediate and future purchases made by referred customers. Mr Lee said that this equates to about a 50 per cent share of the net margin.

“With the recently announced deregulation there will be lots of mail order and internet pharmacies setting up,” he added. “This is a way of using our skills in the back office while retaining pharmacists’ skills in the locality.”
