Bath University to investigate supplementary prescribing
The University of Bath has been awarded a Pharmacy Practice Research Trust grant to investigate supplementary prescribing.
The research will explore the value of supplementary prescribing for
patients and pharmacists. It will examine how supplementary prescribing
will change the care of patients, and practice and job satisfaction for
pharmacists. It also aims to investigate which factors contribute to
successful and unsuccessful practice in supplementary prescribing.
Marjorie Weiss, a senior lecturer at the department of pharmacy and pharmacology,
will lead the research. “The university is delighted to receive
this grant as it complements our ongoing interest in prescribing research
issues and our desire to continually enhance our teaching in supplementary
prescribing,” she said.
The £50,000 grant was sponsored by Boots The Chemists. The Pharmacy
Practice Research Trust is managed by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. |
