MRSA studies weak

Interventions, including isolation, can achieve major reductions in methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, but no well designed studies address isolation measures alone, say researchers who have looked at 46 trials. Current isolation measures should continue, despite major weaknesses in many studies, until better trials are carried out, they say (BMJ 2004;329:533-9).
