1950s smallpox vaccine

In the event that large-scale smallpox vaccination is needed, the efficacy of diluted doses of stockpiled vaccine is important to determine, says a study in JAMA. It reports successful clinical response to an Aventis Pasteur product which had been frozen since manufacture in the late 1950s (2004;292:1205-12).
