Paying the Society’s retention fees for 2005

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s registration section is working towards making the payment of retention fees as quick and easy as possible by extending the use of direct debit and online payment methods.

Personal retention fee Members paying the full retention fee have for some years been able to pay by direct debit. Under the proposed new fee structure, this facility will continue for all members who pay the practising fee. Members wishing to set up a direct debit instruction should contact the Society’s registration section (tel 020 7572 2322; e-mail registration@rpsgb.org).

The registration section is in the process of contacting overseas members who hold direct debit instructions with the Society to ensure they wish to continue to pay using this method.

Direct debit will not be available to those who wish to pay the proposed non-practising fee. This fee can, however, be paid online, using a debit or credit card. The online payment facility is expected to be available from late in December, once the Privy Council has approved the fees payable for 2005.

The facility for postal payment by debit card, credit card or cheque will continue.

Premises retention fees The Society is working towards offering an online annual return and payment service to owners of up to six premises for 2005. Additional information and instructions will be published towards the end of the year.

Those owners with more than six premises will be contacted by the registration section to make arrangements for electronic annual returns and payment.

Pharmacy owners who would like to set up a direct debit to pay their premises retention fees should contact the Society’s registration section (tel 020 7572 2322; e-mail registration@rpsgb.org).

Correction
The facility for postal payment of Royal Pharmaceutical Society personal retention fees by credit or debit card will not continue. Postal payment will be by cheque only. Card payments can only be made online.
