Regulations drafted on elections to new Council

The Council has approved draft regulations for the election of pharmacists, and in due course pharmacy technicians, to the reformed Council. The regulations are designed to replace the Byelaws under which past elections have taken place. The Council, at its September Council meeting, also approved draft regulations applying to the appointed members of the new Council.

A detailed report of the Council’s debate on the matter will appear in The Journal next week to coincide with the publication of an Official Notice setting out the draft regulations. The draft new Charter requires that proposed regulations are published for 60 days before they can be confirmed by the Council and submitted to the Privy Council for its approval.
