The Royal Pharmaceutical Society opened its doors to the public on Saturday 18 September as part of Open
House London weekend 2004.
The Society’s museum organised guided tours taking in the assembly
hall, the Council chamber, committee rooms, the museum displays, the
Council dining room and the fifth-floor roof terrace with its views over
London. The displays included architectural models including the original
scheme for an 11-storey headquarters.
Briony Hudson, keeper of the museum collections, said: “The day
was a success with 59 people visiting the Society’s headquarters.
Taking part in the Open House scheme is a great opportunity for a range
of people to visit the building, find out about its history and view
some of the museum’s collections.”
