Online BNF service improved

BNF.org, the online version of the British National Formulary, has been upgraded to provide a more resilient service to its users.

A consequence of the change is that users now need to register to access parts of the website that contain the text of the BNF unless they work for the NHS or have an Athens authentication account. Access continues to be free and otherwise unrestricted.

The change has been introduced as part of the process of providing a more reliable service so that NHS staff can use the online service at the point of care.
