Public health and skill mix consultation announcements

The White Paper on public health will be published later this month, Sir Nigel Crisp, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health and chief executive of the NHS confirmed on 27 September at the BPC. He added that the pharmaceutical public health strategy will be published next year.

Sir Nigel also announced that a consultation paper on skill mix is to be issued shortly. In order to deliver the new pharmacy services the NHS must make “the best use of all our people — and that means looking at the skill mix, responsibilities and tasks of everyone in the pharmacy service,” he said.
