New contract

Retirement looks attractive

From Mr P. R. Dishman, MRPharmS

I have read Clare Bellingham’s series of Contract 2005 articles with mounting alarm. So far the new contract seems to promise a great deal more paperwork — a veritable mountain for clinical governance alone — on top of our present workload. Am I the only pharmacist who wishes to have a life outside work?

Unlike Tony Schofield, who wishes he was 10 years younger (PJ, 16 October, p570), I wish I was 10 years older. Never before has retirement looked so attractive.

Paul Dishman
Exeter, Devon
