New chief nurse appointed

Chris Beasley has been appointed as the Department of Health’s new Chief Nursing Officer following the departure of Sarah Mullally last month. Ms Beasley has held a number of nursing jobs in hospitals and the community as well as recent roles in the NHS Modernisation Agency. Her top priority will be to improve hospital cleanliness including tackling hospital infections.
