Society invites members to attend devolution meetings as observers

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is inviting members to attend devolution meetings in Scotland and Wales as observers.

The meetings will allow the devolution review group to take evidence from key stakeholders and a wider stakeholder group following their responses to the Society’s consultation document (PJ, 9 October, p543).

Ann Lewis, Secretary and Registrar, said: “The Society is inviting members to attend these meetings to promote openness and transparency and to encourage them to become involved in the process and contribute to the consultation document. I would encourage all members to participate.”

The meetings are on 26 October in Edinburgh and 8 and 9 November in Cardiff. Members wishing to attend should book a place in advance with Michele Savage, Project Manager, Devolution Review, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN (tel 020 7572 2547; e-mail michele.savage@rpsgb.org).

Because the review group hopes to engage with as many members as possible throughout the review, Ms Savage and other groups members are to attend a number of branch meetings. The following branches have already arranged meetings: Aberdeen and North Eastern Scotland, 25 October and 29 November; Ayrshire, 26 October; Clywd/ Gwynedd, 28 October; Gwent/Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan/Mid Glamorgan, 4 November; Northern Scottish, 11 January 2005. Other branches wishing to arrange meetings should contact Ms Savage.
