Society publishes work on pharmacists’ competency
A report examining the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviour that pharmacists will need to be competent in the future was published this week. It also identifies gaps in pharmacists’ current competency.
Produced by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the report gives the results
of the “reality testing” of a competency framework that was
devised by the Society.
Eileen Neilson, the Society’s head of
policy development, who led the research, explained that the results
will be fed into the Society’s strategic work on pharmacy education
and training. “A multi-stakeholder steering group has been set
up to help the Society take this work forward,” she added.
Copies of the report are available from Karen Turnham (tel 020 7572 2218
or e-mail karen.turnham@rpsgb.org) and it will be available online shortly.
