Latest UniChem package reflects pharmacy contract

UniChem has further developed its pharmacy management package to fall in line with the new pharmacy contract. The package, called “Your Portfolio”, consists of three sections: a retail section covering aspects of promotion of the business to customers; a dispensary section supporting the pharmaceutical needs of patients; and a business section covering aspects such as computer systems and utilities.

Alistair Marsh, general manager at Pharmacy Alliance, UniChem’s medicines management division, explained how the dispensary section, in particular, has been developed to help community pharmacists meet the three levels of the new contract, and that the retail section is now more health care-focused. From next year, Unichem customers will also be able to visualise what their pharmacy would look like after a UniChem refit, by taking a virtual tour on a new computer program.
