DoH acts to cut quangos

An implementation framework for reducing the Department of Health’s arm’s length bodies was published earlier this week.

As part of the changes the NHS Modernisation Agency, the NHS Leadership Centre, NHSU (NHS University) and the proposed new National Innovation Centre will merge into a single NHS Institute for Learning, Skills and Innovation. The DoH predicts that the new ALB structure will mean a minimum £100m in savings from more efficient procurement within the NHS.
