Sativex delayed by CSM

More evidence of the effectiveness of Sativex, GW Pharmaceuticals’s cannabis-derived treatment for spasticity in multiple sclerosis, has been demanded by the Committee on Safety of Medicines.

GW is to carry out further studies, as requested, but also intends to appeal to the Medicines Commission for the granting of a product licence on the basis of the current evidence.
