Mental health reform

Mental health services are to be reformed under an action plan to tackle and eradicate racial discrimination in the provision of these services. Average lengths of stay in hospital are longer and such patients are more likely than white people to be prescribed drugs or electroconvulsive therapy rather than psychotherapy or counselling.
