Appeals procedure approved for technicians register

The Council has approved an interim procedure for appeals against decisions not to enter the name of a person in the voluntary register of pharmacy technicians. The procedure will be used until the pharmacy Order under Section 60 of the Health Act 1999 comes into force.

The February Council meeting approved the composition of an interim appeals committee, which would only be established if necessary, and a mechanism for the conduct of an appeal, together with guidance for applicants.
