Letters to the Editor

The Journal

Headline misrepresented letter

From Mrs S. Davis, MRPharmS

I wish to point out that the headline above my letter published in The Journal (22 January, p83) “CPD is a straitjacket”, misrepresented the content of the letter.

I did not state in my letter, as your headline suggests, that continuing professional development was itself a straitjacket. I understand the need for CPD and fully support its objectives. However, I consider the “one size fits all” format for acquiring and recording the necessary knowledge and information may not be suitable for everyone undertaking CPD. This may have a counterproductive effect of discouraging some participants and turning learning into a chore.

Susan Davis
