No survival benefit for flu jab

The benefits of influenza vaccination may be substantially less than previously thought, according to US researchers. They estimated influenza-related deaths among the elderly population but could not correlate increasing vaccination coverage with declining mortality rates in any age group (Archives of Internal Medicine 2005;165:265).
