Tribute
Kiddie In a tribute to the late Bruce Kiddie (see p219),
DON MEEKISON writes:
Scottish pharmacy lost one of its best loved characters
just
before Christmas with the death, after a long illness, of Bruce Kiddie.
Bruce was well loved by the Stobswell community of Dundee where, for
almost 40
years, he ran his pharmacy with his wife Babs.
Bruce had a great love of golf and was a lynchpin of Dundee and District Pharmacy
Golf Club, serving twice as captain and many years as secretary. For 15 years,
with his great friend Ron Duncan, he organised the Scottish Chemists Golf Outing,
first at Gleneagles, then at Dalmahoy and Gullane.
Bruce’s friendly manner, his sense of fun and good humour made him an extremely
popular companion. His great personality added much to all occasions. Bruce was
a talented musician playing the trumpet in jazz bands all his life and his funeral
service was memorable for pieces of his favourite music beautifully played by
a jazz quartet.
Bruce will be missed by his many friends. Our sympathy goes out to Babs, daughter
Pamela, and sons Graeme, Roy and Derek.
