Contract specifications delay
Specifications for enhanced services to be provided under the new pharmacy contract will not be published until May this year at the earliest, The
Journal understands.
Speaking at the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee’s
local
pharmaceutical committee conference this week, chief executive
Sue Sharpe said that the PSNC staff had worked “phenomenally hard” to
get the contract ready. “We did not have the time or the resources
to push to get the sign-off for the enhanced service specifications or
funding.”
Speaking after the conference, Alastair Buxton, the PSNC’s head
of NHS services, explained that the PSNC team was currently working on
the regulatory aspects of the contractual framework, which were due to
be laid before Parliament by 11 March. |
