NHS Education for Scotland launches strategic plan
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) launched a three-year strategic work plan in Edinburgh this week.
Areas the NES plans to focus on include out-of-hours care, waiting times
and delayed discharge, intermediate care, rural educational support and
health care-associated infections. Clinical priorities will be cancer,
coronary heart disease, mental health, child health and health improvement.
Infrastructure to underpin NES work will include e-learning, development
of an NHS Scotland careers ladder, educational research and educational
quality assurance.
“It is vital that the NES continues to provide focused, relevant,
high quality education, training and continuing professional development
opportunities
to NHS staff,” commented Ann Markham, NES chairman.
The work plan is open for consultation for two months. Further information
