SPC changes

Pegasys
Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a; Roche) in now additionally indicated for the treatment of HbeAg-positive or HbeAg-negative-chronic hepatitis B in adult patients with compensated liver disease and evidence of viral replication, increased ALT and histologically verified liver inflammation or fibrosis. The recommended dose for this indication is 180µg once weekly for 48 weeks by subcutaneous administration in the abdomen or thigh. Pegasys is also now indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in adult patients who are positive for serum HCV-RNA and coinfected with clinically stable HIV. The recommended dose for this indication is 180µg once weekly by subcutaneous administration in the abdomen or thigh given in combination with oral ribavirin or as monotherapy. See SPC.

Discontinued products

Humatrope 4iu vials
Humatrope (somatropin; Eli Lilly) 4iu (1.33mg) vials are being discontinued from 1 May. All other presentations remain available.

Melleril
All presentations of Melleril (thioridazine; Novartis) will be discontinued by 30 June. Further information available on 01276 698370.

Stelazine
