Grants for older people
A total of £60m is available to fund projects to help older people in England avoid emergency hospital visits, health minister Stephen Ladyman announced last week.
The Partnerships for Older People Projects grant aims to encourage primary
care trusts and councils, together with voluntary and community sector
partners, to devise innovative approaches to establishing sustainable
arrangements for supporting older people in active and healthy living.
The grants are available for 2006–08. A prospectus of guidance
is available from www.dh.gov.uk
In Wales, £3m is being allocated to local authorities and other
partners to help improve services for older people. The funding will
be split between local authorities, Age Alliance Wales and an Assembly
Government fund. |
