Contract guides for PCOs and support staff launched

The National Pharmaceutical Association has launched guides for primary care organisations and support staff to help them implement the new contract.

The “New community pharmacy contract in England implementation toolkit”, for PCOs, will only be available electronically. It will be an evolving resource and will develop as more information becomes available. The toolkit includes examples of different ways in which PCOs have dealt with the implementation process. The NPA hopes that other PCOs will feed in more examples of developments in their areas, so that these can be included in updated versions.

“The NPA pharmacy support staff guide to the essential services” is a booklet designed to prepare all support staff for the new contract. It concentrates on essential services and includes an overview of the new pharmacy contract in England and Wales. Copies of the guide for support staff have been sent to all NPA member in England and Wales.

The toolkit for PCOs is available as a PDF file (2.4 MB). Further information about the booklet for support staff is available from the NPA’s training department on 01727 858687 extension 3475.
