Patient packs

Investment made in livery design

From Mr J. Westlake

In response to a letter pleading with pharmaceutical companies to “Do something about livery design” (PJ, 12 February 2005) I would like to point out that IVAX has. Helping pharmacists dispense the right product is something IVAX takes seriously. Months of research and an investment of over £1m culminated two years ago in the introduction of an innovative new look for our patient packs, with the majority now in the new livery.

One of the most dramatic changes we made was the use of colour. Now, no two IVAX products look the same whether in the same therapeutic group or with similar names.

Indeed our new look patient packs have proved so successful that they provided the blueprint for the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency guidelines on medicine labelling and packaging.
