Cranberries for vascular function

Using a model of hypercholesterolaemia researchers have shown that cranberry juice can improve vascular function and may protect against heart disease. Pigs with a genetic defect developed high cholesterol and atherosclerosis. However, those fed cranberry juice powder for six months had blood vessels that behaved more like the vessels of normal pigs.
