GlaxoSmithKline

Ethically unacceptable action

From Mr L. S. Sprey, MRPharmS

I agree fully with all the comments made in the letters published in The Pharmaceutical Journal (9 April, pp422–3) in respect of GlaxoSmithKline. This action by GSK demonstrates its greed in “turning over” community pharmacy in the UK.

I, too, urge all pharmacy contractors to unite with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and refuse to agree to accept GSK’s new trading terms. GSK is a company which makes mega-profits worldwide and it is ethically unacceptable for the company to use its power and market domination to “strangle” community pharmacy contractors.
