Cannabis MS medicine approved

Canada has become the first country to approve a new cannabis medicine as adjunctive treatment for the symptomatic relief of neuropathic pain in adults with multiple sclerosis.

Sativex (Cannabis sativa L. extract) is not yet available in the UK but is being reviewed by the regulatory authorities for the treatment of spasticity in MS. This review is due to be completed this summer.
