Prescribing consultation deadline looms

Pharmacist prescribers are urged by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to respond to the Department of Health consultation on independent prescribing by pharmacists (PJ, 5 March, p257).

Sue Kilby, head of practice at the Society, said that it is important that pharmacists who are already prescribing should respond to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency on the consultation, because their views are likely to be taken into consideration when Government proposals are finally made.

The deadline for responses is 25 May.
